Traditional proverb
Dear subscribers,
The almanac is my vocation.
If you enjoy it and are not poor,
please contribute to its production.
Greetings! I hope I entertain you over your morning coffee. Here's how it works (opens in a new window).
I'm like a street performer -- in order to entertain without charge, I rely on your gifts. I hope you'll see it as a fair trade for your free subscription of 365 almanacs a year. I really hope to keep it free, because so many people simply have no money.
What's the ezine worth to you each day, each month, each year? Half as much as a newspaper? One quarter as much? Twice as much? Do its information, fun and inspiration do as much good as an espresso coffee?
I appreciate very much your contributions in exchange for your subscription. Every donation, large or small, will be spent. This is my promise to you.
Divine Almaniacs help me bring out an ezine packed with hope, optimism, creative solutions, idealism and a view towards personal and planetary healing. This sort of subject matter is not highly sought after in the commercial world, so, like most poets and imaginicians, I earn my crust as I can.
Each day that I don't have to spend as a handyman, gardener or cleaner, or even as a consulting writer or editor (which happens very, very rarely), is one day that I can work hard on the almanac -- researching, writing, designing, publishing. And I do work hard -- usually much more than 12 hours a day, 365 days a year.
As well, there are books, music, DVDs, videos, domestic goods, etc at Amazon via Cafe Diem!, the Wilson's Almanac General Store, and I get a small commission. In a good year I make less than $200 from Amazon sales, but that really helps. Next you want to buy a book, some music, DVDs, software or even tools and computers, I invite you to use the search box at the store and get products home delivered. (And every time you click one of those pesky Google Ads I get a fraction of a cent or even more!)
