Little puppy dog

Hello little puppy dog, oh may I talk to you?
I like to talk, but listeners are really very few.
But you look like a listener, all furry round the nose,
I guess you're furry there to strain your noodles I suppose.
I do that too, with noodle soup, to keep the good bits so
I eat them last, but I don't use my furry face you know.
You're such a lovely fella, aren't you, wiry and small –

Your eyes are brown like those of Jane my sister's husband's Paul.

But he's a grownup people, and no people are no good.

I bet he couldn't poke his tongue as long as what you could.

I got no friends to play with, little puppy, 'cause you see,

My Mummy's sick and kids from kinder live too far from me.

Golly little puppy dog, I got a while to go

Before I see a puppy that can wag his tail so.

Bye-bye little puppy dog, my Mummy's calling me.

Let's talk again tomorrow, I'll be waiting here, you'll see.

Frank's having kittens

Frank's having kittens;
Look! I see one more.
Last time I looked
There only were four.
I think that's the last
So now there are five,
Five tiny kittens,
All blind – but alive.

Yes, at least they're alive
And that's the main thing,
And now look at Frank,
He's as proud as a king –
Or proud as a queen
It all means the same,
But now he's had kittens,
I should change her name.

The frogs

Listen now to all the frogs
in the rivers, in the bogs
on the creek banks, under trees
with the water round their knees.

Goroka-dee, goroka doak
choog-a-roomf the froggies croak
knee-deep, knee-deep, goroka-doo
all the frogs will sing for you.

Listen now to all the frogs
next to mushrooms, under logs,
after dark by soft moonlight
the frogs sing “choog-a-roomf” all night.

Goroka-dee, goroka doak
choog-a-roomf the froggies croak
knee-deep, knee-deep, goroka-doo
all the frogs will sing for you.

Listen now to all the frogs
in the rivers, in the bogs.
Knee-deep in water all the day
“Knee-deep, knee-deep” is what they say.

Goroka-dee, goroka doak
choog-a-roomf the froggies croak
knee-deep, knee-deep, goroka-doo
all the frogs will sing for you.
