Wilson's Almanac Scriptorium home

Welcome, honoured guest. I intend, over some time, to place this introductory matter beneath the animated masthead above, on virtually every page of Wilson's Almanac, though possibly it's temporarily missing
(or badly busted, due to my months of non-attention, long away from home in hospital with my Extreme TBI), because many
readers arrive on a certain page here, for their first time,
and don't know their way around as I do. I'm well aware that it might be a nuisance to some, but please feel free to use, or ignore, any links, and scroll down to other matters if you wish.
You'll generally know when you've reached the foot of the page when you see a mauve Almanac directory bar. The whole almanac, and I, are under reconstruction. A big thankyou, and bright blessings to you.

It's no big deal.

The best way I know to have all the latest online news,
and all these links, is to use Firefox (free) as your browser,

Give Microsoft Internet Explorer the flick - it's rubbish.
Once you have both, add Pip's Links to Yahoo! Groups,
use your mouse to drag it onto your desktop. It'll be a groovy desktop icon.
John's Background Switcher, too, is awesome. Nice bloke.

PLEASE READ. Three important notes about Pip's Links.

(Preamble: Friends and new visitors, while under construction with a damaged computer, hard to get repaired, there have been many challenges to the Almanac.
Perhaps chief among these has been incorrect column widths, and disappearance of many interesting images on the links pages, time and time again, even without a reboot.
I have kept the under-construction pages open, and while I’ve been asleep in bed, the problems have recurred.
The images are generally indicated by captions in
8 point red font. I trust these glitches will be fixed in time. But we battle on. Thanks for your patience. Pip)

1) Wilson's Almanac's has had other links pages before, such as the Planet Directory. They all went like a snail in a coma, in terms of reciprocals, but this one's going like a train. They were, in Wilsonesque fashion, free webpages in which to be linked -- by people, organisations, lobby groups, almanacs, directories, anyone ...  it was all free. This one, however, is different. For the first time (I would hope I'm older and wiser), I've set a fee. It might turn linkers and readers away, but, as you might see, I have nothing to lose but my life, and quite a few people have tried extremely hard over the years to take mine from me. Being stabbed a bit and an attempted murder survivor (oh, sweet Bello), change one. While police and doctors tell you crap. Achtung! The rules are:

The fee:

2) One BRIEF email from you to wilsonsalmanac@gmail.com telling me 3 (three) sites to which you have recommended any page at all on http://ww.wilsonsalmanac.com (a favourite of mine), that have given a link. I'm not fussy which page of mine. Being a trusting soul, I trust you. Please make your email header clear for me. And please tell me my typos! I know it! I'm born-again (several times) coolesque.

3) If you have a cattle herd, I would like one fattened cow. If you've a number of wives, please send without delay 1 (one) of them. Preferably the most intelligent and nubile, but I will accept any: old, young, hideous, whatever.

The same fee applies to the Wilson's Almanac Belligen and International Free Directory. Bigger and better than Pip's Links in many, many ways. If you tell three people or businesses (especially if they have a website and promise to reciprocate a link) about any page at all on Wilson's Almanac, you're in - for free. These conditions might change at any time, but that's not my intention. I clearly have brain/memory damage PLUS 'slight optical impairment' - ok, half blind. (OK to you? Webmasters, I suggest you try it for five minutes. Then try more than a year.) Even the dates at the bottom of each page are almost as likely to be as wrong as correct, but I do my best. (No joke.) I like listing good, cheap stuff. And news of any dead links, typos.

You can tell I don't like the mob of rubbish directories you have to pay even $1 to spruik your stuff. Me a freek. Send some links, ok? Links are shown because I think they're good. I've pretty much run out of reasons and excuses in life. Everyone does what they want. I'm enlisting. Kindly note that this page was built with damage to software and hardware, and please be patient. Your almanackist has been for you.

I have a SharpReader running a lot, so you might have many of these 200+ links. I'm happy to talk to anyone about them, preferably face-to-face, but anything's OK. Zeus software built the former directory, but I didn't like it. It's rubbish. New links are invited.

The Beatles in Wilson's Almanac

From the days when a lot of performers looked and sounded like Beatles.
One of studios at which the cartoon shows were made was Artransa Park
, once based at Frenchs Forest (a northern suburb of Sydney) and moved to Epping in the late 60's where it occupied two stages at ATN Channel 7. It has seen many makeovers, one of them as Mobbs Lane Productions in the 70's. Artransa pioneered the beginnings of television in Australia, from animatiion to series production that included 'Whiplash' and 'Rip Tide' back in the 50's. Artransa was also one of the first production houses that targeted corporate communications aka Corporate Videos.

Big Ideas
Big Ideas: Securing Freedom

(A big idea. It's interesting to tally Elisa's malapropisms. I got four in 50 minutes, or thereabouts, and I was writing a lot of Almanac material from a box of notes I'd written for Almanac material, and wasn't concentrating on the radio at the time, at all. There might have been many more. Not good at all. But I really liked the fact that Dame Elisabeth said that no matter how good a nation's security protocols, we are never safe from terrorism. Terrorism takes so many forms. It might be a crazy neighbour, it might be one of the military states, or some loony affinity group. Sometimes it's been good for me to repeat the bleeding obvious. It's happened only occasionally, probably rarely, but I know that in my life, I've forgotten two or three matters of some importance, either to me, a loved one, or someone else entirely. Reminder notes are wonderful.I'll try to remember the fact that few things are predictable. This note will remind me, often, for the first few months, but every now and again, in perpetuity. That's why I'm leaving it in 12pt black, not the livery, so I'll see it clearly. And, as well, it's why I clearly stet this paragraph.)

Wikipedia and David Brown's prodigious Daily Bleed are both excellent resources that aid my research.
I frequently make use of their generously liberal 'fair use', 'copyleft' and 'anti-copyright' policies, with much gratitude.
© My own copyright policy is also liberal, but as this is my livelihood, conditions apply.
